Pond of Homan

Located right next to the grounds of Homan Shrine, the 1,230m circumference, 6m deep Homan Pond is a treasure trove of precious plants such as lotus and water lilies. In winter, migratory birds such as mallards and teals come from as far away as Siberia and northeastern China to spend the winter, and you can see them echoing their lively cries on the quiet water surface.

Elephant drinking rock

The Elephant's Water Drinking Rock, a strange rock formation also known as "Kase no Hana" on Takezaki Coast, looks just like an elephant putting its trunk into the water to drink. Takesaki Observation Stand

The Takesaki Observatory is at the Tanegashima Space Centre, where you can see the rocket launch site. Most rocket launch images are taken from the roof observation deck. During launches, access is restricted for safety reasons. Otherwise, you can climb the stairs next to the observation deck. The rooftop view shows that the launch facility is in a beautiful setting. The Takesaki Coast is a good spot for viewing the first sunrise of the year.
